Gourmet pizza business Love Pizza has launched its first premises on Hulme High Street in Manchester, supported by a £100k loan from Business Finance Solutions.
Love Pizza, which is owned by parent company Taste Maker Concepts Limited, already has plans in place to expand the business nationwide through a franchise model which will rival national takeaway chains by offering a hand crafted, stone baked pizza experience.
Love Pizza has invested the £100k loan from BFS and over £200k of their own funds in developing the new site with state of the art equipment including stone bake ovens from Italy that use a conveyor belt made from stone interlocking slats to create a crisper, thinner pizza than current mainstream takeaways. The pizza delivery bags are equally as high tech, using Formula 1 technology to ensure that the pizzas are delivered hot and fresh.
The IT investment includes an integrated ePOS with delivery management from PointOne, and an Online ordering platform from OrderSwift, both partners chosen for their ability to scale in line with the Love Pizza franchise model.
Andy Nichols, Senior Loan Manager at Business Finance Solutions which is part of the Manchester Growth Company, said: “Love Pizza is one of the most exciting and ambitious businesses we have worked with this year and, like many motivated start up businesses, already had detailed business plans and some funds in place. Securing the low interest loan from BFS meant that they were able to move quickly to get the first premises up and running and to invest in the high quality equipment and IT that is at the heart of their business model.”
Love Pizza was co-founded by Harinder Dhaliwal and Anil Sumra who met when Anil first started working for Harinder in 2000. Managing Director Harinder Dhaliwal has previously run a number of retail businesses including the Olive Delicatessen in Manchester. He is also the owner of First Step Group, which is investing in building new housing in East Manchester. Operations Director Anil Sumra owns a management consulting business in London, delivering projects for clients such as Deutche Bank, British Airways, and Bank of America
Harinder says: “We are absolutely passionate about creating a new style of pizza delivery business and the loan from BFS has meant that our first premises is now up and running and we are already looking at other sites across the North West and nationally.
“Consumers are increasingly demanding a more authentic way of cooking and what we are able to deliver is the gourmet stone-baked pizza taste that you might find at a food market or festival – but delivered to the door with a guarantee of quality.”Back
